The
Event Whether referred to as Peter-McGill, Lincoln-Tupper, Shaughnessy Village or Quartier Concordia, the area located on the outermost west side of downtown Montreal is a lively multicultural neighbourhood demonstrating the great vitality of a local population of diverse ethnic origins, languages, ages, means and occupations. In order to celebrate the great ethnic diversity in the western part of downtown Montreal, the Lincoln-Tupper Promotion and Development Corporation will organize, thanks to the financial support of Destination Centre-Ville and the Ville-Marie Borough, and in partnership with the Peter-McGill Community Council, the Montreal Children's Library, the Native Friendship Centre of Montreal, and The Pepsi Forum, an impressive neighborhood celebration, under the theme "All Together, Multicultural Festival", on September 27 - 28, 2008, in Cabot Square, corner of Atwater Avenue and Sainte-Catherine West. The Festival will feature a multitude of shows and performances over two full days of activities. Children's activities will consist of puppet shows, storytelling, music and dancing as well as workshops to show children how to create their own puppets and musical instruments or participate in scientific experiments. Visitors will also discover the unbridled rhythms of many continents and the refined subtleties of others. From traditional Bamboo flute music to the wild percussions of Afro-Caribbean drums; from Kezmer traditions to Brazilian martial arts, many aspects of our local friends and neighbors' culture will be featured. About us The Lincoln-Tupper Promotion and Development Corporation was created by a group of residents and business owners in the territory delimited by Atwater Avenue, Guy Street, Sherbrooke Street and the Ville-Marie Expressway. The Corporation organizes and supports local events and activities that motivate and mobilize citizens in their projects to revitalize the neighbourhood and increase its full potential as a great downtown place to reside and do business in. |
